RESEARCH ACTIVITIES

The research activities of the Unit will include the following:

• A Corporate Governance Rating Index: The Unit will endeavour to develop a rating index, initially at country level, but ultimately also at company level.
  
  
• Fellowships: The Unit will create the opportunity for individuals to spend short periods of time at the USB or one of the linked institutions to perform research leading to journal articles, publications or conference presentations.
  
  
• Study groups: The Unit will arrange a quarterly study group session where experts such as academics and company directors will focus on relevant topics.
  
  
• PhD and MBA research: The Unit will supervise doctoral studies and MBA research reports in the fields of corporate governance and/or business ethics.
  
  
• Case Study Development Programme: This long-term programme aims to capture Africa-specific case studies in the areas of corporate governance.
  
  
• Publications: The Unit will publish printed and electronic articles.
